You’ve likely have heard about Stephen R. Covey’s “7 Habits”…but we’d like to offer our own version, Wanae Influencer edition. Here are 5 habits we believe the most productive entrepreneurs embrace:
Vision
Not everyone has what it takes to dream big. In fact, some people are more comfortable staying on the sidelines. We find that enterprising types tend to have the biggest imaginations and they use them to their advantage. The most effective ones aren’t afraid to question the status quo and explore alternatives. They are rarely static and aren’t afraid to push boundaries to see their goals to fruition.
Discipline
Even when schedules can be grueling, the most high-powered Influencers make time for self care—movement, meditation, proper nutrition, socialization, etc. They prioritize a consistent sleep schedule to stay happy and healthy. Similarly, they often start their day early because they know that an early start means they can have time to consult with their team and be available to provide direction. And they’re masters of time management so that they rule their schedules, not the other way around.
Focus
Successful Influencers know that boundaries are healthy and necessary. They worry less about pleasing others and more about their own results. Their self-imposed limits are how they stay focused on their goals. They may act in volunteer capacities, but they do so with great intentionality and discretion. They filter everything through the lens of personal growth.
Curiosity
An empty tank can stifle innovation. Because they remain insatiable, it is hard for the most effective business builders to feel uninspired. In fact, they usually have a running list of possible concepts to explore. While some people tend to stop working when they run out of creative juices, highly-effective Influencers always have methods or techniques in place to push through and re-energize.
Community
Behind every successful Influencer is a tribe of people encouraging and supporting them. Not everyone is qualified to give advice. Be strategic and intentional in whom you confide in and lean on for support. Moreover, some people won’t “get” what it means to blaze your own trail—and that’s OK. Keep those who support you close and let the naysayers want you succeed!
